OZ time... Wednesday 1st February... 11.00pm
After another lovely breakfast this morning, it was sad to leave our Christchurch B&B, not only because it was our last day in NZ but also because it meant saying goodbye to Fay & Stephen (we really enjoyed their company and staying at their beautiful home).
When we gave the hire car back, it showed that Jan had driven 3347 miles during our five weeks in NZ, without any speeding tickets! Mike has been very frustrated at not driving , but Jan has coped brilliantly.
We had some trepidation about 3 flights in quick succession on our way to Hobart via Sydney and Melbourne, but all went well. The Sydney transfer could have been tight, but a kind lady suggested we should use the "express line" through immigration and it worked brilliantly, saving at least half an hour (we did get a few looks from those in the long standard queue, but no problem!).
We arrived in Hobart on time and got our hire car, which Jan then drove into the city & eventually we found our hotel (after getting lost twice)!
