Waitomo area

NZ time...Thurs 5th January 8pm

Sunny and hot here today. Breakfast included an ostrich egg omelette (interesting, but not that different!).

Spent most of the day doing 4 local bush walks first to Ruakuri Natural Tunnel, then to Mangapohue Natural Bridge, Piri Piri Cave and finally to Marokopa Falls (which were quite spectacular).

Got back to the B&B mid-afternoon, where Anne gave us a tour of her animals (ostriches, alpacas, emus, calves, goats, pigs, miniature highland bulls, horses, guinea pigs, cat & kittens, dog & pups, shetland pony and donkeys!).

Went to best (well only!) local restaurant for dinner, food was excellent.

Now back at B&B sitting on verandah on a lovely warm evening.
